As the Director of Performance Marketing at Alation.com, you will be responsible for developing and executing the performance marketing strategy to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth. You will lead a team of performance marketing professionals and work cross-functionally with other teams to optimize campaigns, improve conversion rates, and enhance the overall customer journey. This role requires a deep understanding of digital marketing channels, strong analytical skills, and the ability to leverage data to drive actionable insights.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop and execute the performance marketing strategy to meet customer acquisition and revenue targets.
- Lead a team of performance marketing professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management.
- Oversee all aspects of performance marketing channels, including paid search, display advertising, paid social, affiliate marketing, and remarketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with the creative and content teams to develop compelling marketing assets and landing pages that drive conversion rates and engagement.
- Optimize campaign performance by conducting rigorous A/B testing, analyzing data, and implementing data-driven insights.
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product marketing, field marketing, campaigns and analytics, to align marketing efforts with business objectives and ensure consistent messaging and branding.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in performance marketing, and proactively identify new growth opportunities.
- Manage relationships with external agencies and vendors, ensuring effective execution and driving maximum ROI.
- Establish and maintain effective tracking and attribution methodologies to accurately measure the impact of performance marketing campaigns.
What you need:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in performance marketing, with a proven track record of driving customer acquisition and revenue growth.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
- Strong expertise in digital marketing channels, including paid search, display advertising, paid social, affiliate marketing, and remarketing.
- Experience managing and mentoring a team of performance marketing professionals.
- Proficient in marketing analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar platforms, with a demonstrated ability to leverage data to drive actionable insights.
- Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with the ability to track, measure, and optimize campaign performance.
- Solid understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) techniques and best practices.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of the enterprise software industry or related technology field is preferred.
- Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.

The base salary range is specific to the United States. The salary of the final candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, work location, specialty, and training. If the final candidate has a different level of experience, the base salary target range may be lower or higher than what is published.
