On the heels of our $122M USD Series D funding, we’re racing ahead with an exciting product roadmap. We’re looking for an IT Systems & Operations Specialist to help strengthen and scale our IT environment across devices, identity, SaaS tools, and employee experience.
Reporting to our IT Systems & Operations Manager, this role will focus on supporting and improving our internal IT infrastructure while helping ensure a seamless, secure, and efficient experience for employees.
A Note on Location
This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, with an expectation to be in office 3 days per week (usually Tuesday-Thursday).
We believe in the value of in-person collaboration, especially as we continue to scale our teams, systems, and employee experience. The remaining days can be worked remotely.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to play a key role in building and scaling IT at Blue J as an individual contributor. You’ll work across devices, identity, SaaS tools, and automation to help create a secure, reliable, and efficient internal environment.
You’ll partner closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to support day-to-day IT operations while contributing to longer-term improvements and scaling initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable owning workstreams, but still eager to learn and expand their impact.
What You’ll be Doing
- Support and maintain SSO/IAM systems (Okta, Azure AD, or Google Identity), including onboarding/offboarding workflows.
- Help implement and manage MDM solutions across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- Administer core SaaS tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, Microsoft 365), ensuring appropriate access controls.
- Support device lifecycle management: provisioning, deployment, troubleshooting, and offboarding.
- Provide day-to-day IT support for employees, while helping document and improve recurring processes.
- Contribute to IT documentation, policies, and SOPs in collaboration with Security & Compliance.
- Assist in maintaining endpoint security (patching, encryption, antivirus, updates)
- Support audit readiness efforts (e.g., SOC 2) by helping gather and organize IT-related evidence.
- Help manage office IT needs, including meeting room technology and basic network troubleshooting.
- Participate in evaluating and rolling out new tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Assist with email configuration and troubleshooting. (SPF/DKIM/DMARC)
- Contribute to automation efforts where possible. (scripting or workflow tools)
What You Offer Blue J
- 5+ years of experience as an IT generalist across systems administration and IT operations.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Okta, Azure AD, or Google Identity (SSO/IAM).
- Experience managing MDM solutions such as Jamf, Kandji, or Intune.
- Familiarity with core SaaS tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, and Microsoft 365.
- Solid understanding of endpoint management and security basics.
- Experience supporting employees in a fast-paced or growing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across devices and SaaS tools.
- Clear communication and ability to support non-technical users.
- Some exposure to automation or scripting (or interest in developing this skill).
- Ability to manage priorities and work independently with guidance.
- Exposure to SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks is a nice to have.
- Experience in companies scaling from 100 to 200 employees, is a bonus.
- Familiarity with HRIS integrations or onboarding workflows is a nice to have.

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is CA$80,000 – CA$110,000 per year.
Final compensation will be set fairly and thoughtfully based on experience, expertise, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities. While all candidates are expected to bring directly relevant experience, the top of the range is typically reserved for individuals who demonstrate exceptional depth in the role’s core competencies, a strong track record of impact in similar environments, and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy from day one.
