Cohesity is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Sr. Analyst to join our Product Finance & Operations team. This is a hybrid role that blends finance, operations, and cross-functional support — sitting at the intersection of cloud economics, royalty management, internal process excellence, and stakeholder enablement. Reporting to the Director of Product Finance & Operations and working alongside the Manager of Cloud FinOps, this individual contributor will serve as a critical point of triage and execution for the team, helping to operationalize workflows, document processes, and ensure incoming requests are resolved efficiently and accurately.
This is not a traditional FP&A role. The ideal candidate brings operational rigor, strong organizational instincts, and analytical fluency — and is equally comfortable operating in a fast-paced, request-driven environment, managing competing priorities with precision, engaging multiple stakeholders and building durable documentation along the way.
We are a team that embraces AI as a core part of how we work — and we expect this person to bring that same mindset.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:
Operations, Triage & Process Management
Maintain clear ownership and status tracking of open items across the team, ensuring no requests fall through the cracks and stakeholders are kept informed.
Identify patterns in recurring requests and proactively work with the team to develop scalable solutions or self-service tools.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders — including Engineering, IT, Finance, and Deal Management — to gather inputs and drive timely outcomes.
Own the documentation of various FinOps processes, procedures, and playbooks — building a knowledge base that scales the team’s effectiveness.
Partner with the team to identify undocumented workflows and translate them into clear, replicable standard operating procedures.
Continuously improve and maintain existing documentation as processes evolve, ensuring accuracy and accessibility across the team.
Support the development and upkeep of internal tools, trackers, and dashboards that improve operational visibility and efficiency.
Apply structured project management principles to manage deliverables, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies — keeping work organized, visible, and on track.
Royalty Management
This role plays an active part in managing the team’s internal and embedded software royalty obligations — spanning forecasting, procurement, and ongoing tracking.
Support the forecasting of internal and embedded software royalty obligations, working with Finance and Engineering stakeholders to ensure accurate projections.
Manage the purchase requisition and purchase order (PR/PO) process for royalty-related vendors, coordinating with Procurement and Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate execution.
Maintain a centralized royalty tracker covering vendor agreements, payment schedules, accrual status, and any true-up or reconciliation items.
Assist in the preparation of royalty reporting for internal reviews and governance forums, including variance analysis against forecast.
Identify process improvements or control gaps in the royalty management workflow and bring forward recommendations to the team.
Partner with Legal, Finance, and product teams to ensure royalty obligations are properly reflected in financial models and budget plans.
Cloud Cost & Financial Analysis
Support ongoing monitoring, analysis, and reporting of cloud expenditures across AWS, Azure, and other platforms.
Assist in identifying cost optimization opportunities and tracking the impact of savings initiatives over time.
Contribute to financial models, business cases, and ad hoc reporting as directed by the Director, Product Finance & Operations.
Help maintain SaaS cost tracking by SKU, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Support
Provide analytical and operational support to the Deal Management team, including deal economics, pricing inputs, and approval workflows.
Support preparation of materials and data for senior leadership reviews and governance forums.
Partner with Finance, Deal Management and Engineering teams to ensure consistent adherence to cloud financial policies and controls.
AI Fluency & Applied Automation
We are a team that actively embraces AI as a productivity multiplier. This person is expected to bring genuine curiosity and practical experience applying AI tools to everyday work — not just awareness of the concept.
Use AI-powered tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) to accelerate research, draft communications, generate documentation, and summarize complex data or threads.
Apply AI to build or enhance internal process documentation — turning meeting notes, SOPs, or ad hoc guidance into clean, structured playbooks faster.
Leverage AI for financial analysis support: drafting variance commentary, summarizing reporting outputs, identifying patterns in cost data, and generating first-pass models or templates.
Use AI to triage and prioritize incoming requests — developing prompt-based workflows or lightweight tools that help the team respond faster and more consistently.
Proactively identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks or reporting processes using AI or low-code tools, and bring those ideas forward to the team.
Stay current on emerging AI capabilities relevant to finance and operations, and share useful techniques or tools with the broader team.
WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
3–5+ years of experience in an operations role or a hybrid finance/operations role.
High-level working knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) — comfort with cloud cost concepts and terminology is expected, but deep technical expertise is not required.
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.
Strong analytical skills with proven experience in Excel, Power Query, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Demonstrated project management skills — ability to manage multiple workstreams, track deliverables, and maintain clear status visibility across concurrent priorities.
Exceptional attention to detail, with a track record of producing accurate, well-organized work product in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented with a continuous improvement orientation.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working cross-functionally across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a SaaS or cloud-native technology company, ideally with exposure to cloud P&L or unit economics.
Prior experience with royalty management, software licensing, or vendor obligation tracking.
Familiarity with FinOps principles and cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability).
Exposure to deal management, revenue operations, or procurement/PO workflows (e.g., Coupa or similar).
Experience building AI-assisted workflows, prompt libraries, or lightweight automation tools to improve team efficiency.
