We are looking for an experienced Engineering leader to take an active role in our application development organization. DataRobot’s machine learning platform is always improving and has high revenue growth potential. We need a leader who can take on the challenge of getting the best from 30+ talented engineers and data scientists, with an eye toward scaling revenue while maintaining an industry-leading product vision over the long term. This role also offers an opportunity to work at multiple levels across the organization, helping craft a unified vision and competent cross-org execution. Communication with other executives, customers, partners, and suppliers is required.

An ideal candidate for this position has had 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, as well as a background in software product development.

You will need to cut through uncertainty, define a grand vision, and execute on a 1-2 year timescale as you run your organization with a broad charter. You will grow the next tier of leaders on your team. You will hire and motivate your engineering staff. You will be responsible for increasingly efficient and high-quality software delivery.

What you'll do

  • Lead an organization of 30+ employees to personal growth, operational excellence, and performance improvement as they build the leading AI platform.

  • Hands-on expertise in engineering strategy and collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure we innovate every step of the way.

  • Collaborate closely with the Product Management team to refine, enhance, and deliver on our product roadmap.

  • Communicate vision, progress, and needs with executives and cross-functional leaders

  • Build and develop team leaders

  • Contribute to software architecture discussions and key decisions.

  • Short-term resource planning to implement the product roadmap

  • A long-term vision for excellence in engineering, delivery, and efficiency

What it takes

  • 10 years leading teams of engineering professionals, whether directly or through similar senior roles.

  • Deep experience with ML-related technologies and building ML-related products.

  • Experience with infrastructure technology/services and producing infrastructure and/or platform products. SaaS delivery experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to represent and promote complex business or technical concepts to various stakeholders.

  • Possession of deep technical & analytical prowess in problem-solving, defining risk, identifying potential threats, and developing action/mitigation plans.

  • Experience in leading technology transformations, promoting changes across various software development life cycles, and delivering scalable, high-quality software products and platforms.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other relevant discipline or equivalent practice experience.
