Role Description:

We are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to join our team. This role will be responsible for designing and developing instructional materials across various formats, ensuring learners gain valuable context, knowledge, and skills. In collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), you will translate performance gaps into clear learning objectives, ensure content is accurate and relevant, and craft engaging learning experiences.

This role requires a deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and an innovative approach to employee development as well as the collaboration with various teams and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify training requirements and performance gaps
  • Develop learning objectives and course outlines
  • Collaborate with SMEs to gain an understanding of key domains and ensure learning content is relevant
  • Apply instructional design models and theories to design, craft, and develop engaging learning experiences, including presentations, activities, assessments, workshops, facilitator guides, eLearning, and sustainment activities.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest instructional design trends and technologies
  • Utilize multimedia tools to enhance the learning (e.g., video, audio, graphics)
  • Conduct pilot testing and revise instructional materials based on feedback
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and make revisions as needed
  • Launch and maintain training materials on a learning management system (LMS)

Travel Expectations/Requirements: 10%-20%

The listed responsibilities are not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the evolving needs of the organization. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is able to adapt and take on new responsibilities as they arise.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning and Development, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Experience in instructional design or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and theories
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs, stakeholders, and learners
  • Proven ability to develop engaging and effective learning materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in instructional design software (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate)
  • Proficiency in multimedia tools (e.g., video, audio, graphics)
  • Experience with LMSs
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex information into easy-to-understand content

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience. Compensation ranges are established using national benchmarking data and apply across all geographic locations within the United States.
