About the role
At Dremio, our Quality Assurance team is deeply knowledgeable about our products and product features and have a knack for comprehensive analysis from both the developer and end-user perspectives. They are effective communicators in code who aren’t afraid to think outside of the box. As key partners in deployment, the QA team consistently ensures that we clear a high bar of excellence
As a Senior Quality Assurance engineer at Dremio, you'll work together with a team of engineers, using your programming skills to design and develop detailed and robust test automation. You'll engage in functional and performance testing with an agile methodology in mind, and in proactive strategy and investigation to test the integrity of our products and product features. The ideal candidate loves to code and loves to immerse themselves in solving challenging problems.
What you'll be doing
- Closely work with Engineers and Product managers to understand and verify new features
- Look up the specs, and make sure each feature conforms to the requirements and functions the same way across different browsers
- Write and execute test plans for various features
- Write end-to-end tests in Cypress test automation framework
- Come up with an effective strategy for end-to-end test runs, and make sure test failures are aptly reported immediately to the relevant stakeholders
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or alternative related field
- 5-7 years experience working with UI automation tools/frameworks (JavaScript, REACT, Cypress...)
- Strong proficiency with programming in an enterprise-scale language (Python, or Java)
- Hands on with cloud (ideally Azure or AWS / GCP)
- Prior experience of testing BDD frameworks (Cucumber or Robot Framework)
- SQL basics
Bonus if you have:
- Background in data processing, analytics or big data
- Programming at enterprise scale in Java and JavaScript
