Global FIELD CISO

This role is hybrid for NYC or Boston. All other locations are not being considered at this time.

About GitGuardian

GitGuardian is a global cybersecurity scale-up. The company is based in Paris, New York City, and Boston. Among our early investors who saw our market value proposition are the co-founder of GitHub, Scott Chacon, along with Solomon Hykes, Docker's co-founder. American and European top-tier VC firms have also invested in GitGuardian, which raised its Series C in early 2026.

GitGuardian helps enterprises close credential-based breach paths. It finds secrets wherever they live, prioritizes remediation based on rich context, and prevents new exposure across code, systems, and AI. The GitGuardian platform is already used by more than 600K developers worldwide and by 50 of the Fortune 500.

Your Mission:

  • Be GitGuardian's most senior external security voice — engaging CISOs, AppSec leaders, and board-level stakeholders at Fortune 500 and regulated enterprises

  • Build and own our CISO & CTO Advisory Board from scratch — 6 to 10 executive leaders who shape our product, open doors, and drive net new pipeline

  • Accelerate enterprise deals by showing up as a peer, not a vendor

  • Own our strategic narrative — developer security, secrets management, AI risk, non-human identity — and keep it sharp as the market moves

  • Represent GitGuardian at FS-ISAC, Health-ISAC, and executive roundtables where it matters

  • Be the feedback loop between the market and our Product, Marketing, and Leadership teams

  • Raise the bar internally — SE, AEs, executive communication, GTM maturity

Who You Are:

  • Former CISO, Deputy CISO, or Head of AppSec — or a senior security leader from a top cybersecurity company, with 10+ years in the field

  • Technically credible: AppSec, developer security, secrets management, cloud, DevSecOps, NHI — you can go deep with technical CISOs, not just executive buyers

  • Calm, high-judgment presence — you build trust fast, communicate with clarity and nuance, and leave ego at the door

  • A natural connector: extroverted, great listener, thrives building relationships through dinners, roundtables, and long-term trust

  • Consultative, not pitchy — you listen first, navigate organizational complexity, and respond with tailored insight

  • Ideally, you've lived this problem operationally — as a former GitGuardian customer or someone who has deployed developer security tooling inside an enterprise. You can say "I've been on your side of the table" and mean it

  • Based in New York City (3 days/week in-office for the first 6 months)

  • Energized by scale-up pace, ambiguity, and cross-functional ownership

The interview process:

  1. Video call with our Talent Acquisition manager, to explore your background and evaluate mutual fit

  2. Intro call with our VP - GTM, to dive deeper into your experience, security philosophy, and executive approach, and to introduce you to our go-to-market vision

  3. Strategic advisory simulation, a live scenario with our GTM and SE leadership to evaluate executive presence, security depth, and consultative instincts in a realistic enterprise setting

  4. Final interview with our CEO, Eric — Eric will share GitGuardian's mission, vision, and strategic ambitions, and assess cultural and strategic alignment
