About the Role
The Salesforce Technical Lead will serve as a trusted agent of change to the business, building solutions that promote, improve and enhance our Salesforce platform, guided by experienced Salesforce Architects in our Rev Ops team. This role includes analyzing business processes and business systems for inefficiencies, providing hands-on technical leadership to develop scalable Salesforce solutions. Reporting to the Director of Sales Systems and Processes within the Revenue Strategy and Operations organization, this role focuses on technical product architecture and development, supporting the GTM strategy through system administration, infrastructure, and security.
About You
You are an innovative and collaborative professional with a deep understanding of sales business processes and familiarity with Salesforce CPQ (formerly Steelbrick). Your expertise lies in systems, process design and implementation, while working closely with business stakeholders to build robust, scalable, and flexible solution architectures. You excel in designing prototypes, building proof of concepts, and creating architecture roadmaps. With a breadth and depth of Salesforce development experience and best practices, you lead the development team with solution design, development, and management of Salesforce systems. You demonstrate the ability to partner across all levels of the organization, drive results, resolve problems, and make strategic decisions, facilitating organizational change and adaptation.

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Management - Participate in workshops with sales, finance, and operations teams to gather requirements and align with business objectives. Understand and implement scalable technical solutions on Salesforce platform. Recommend improvements to systems and processes to enhance efficiency and automation.
  • Technical Leadership, Solution Architecture, and Process Improvement - Design, prototype, build, and support Salesforce solutions. Lead technical design sessions, create user stories, and develop aligned technical documentation. Translate business requirements into system functionality and configure and collaborate with developers and admins to deliver Salesforce features.
  • Team Leadership - Manage day-to-day activities of a team of Salesforce Developers and admins. Provide guidance, coaching, mentoring and day-to-day direction for junior members of the team. Peer-review design and code and coordinate deployment operations for Salesforce development team.
  • Project and Change Management - Drive integration solution lifecycles from conception to post-launch support. Conduct needs analysis to minimize revisions and ensure alignment with business needs. Work with Solution Architect to support change management activities for program rollouts in collaboration with Operations Enablement, and other teams.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing - Ensure Salesforce solutions meet quality standards through functional, regression, and user acceptance testing. Support bi-weekly release cycles to ensure timely delivery of solutions. Create and maintain technical documentation based on design specifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related discipline.
  • Enterprise experience, including leading teams and developing Salesforce Sales Cloud, CPQ-adjacent solutions.
  • Experience defining and delivering enterprise applications on the Salesforce platform
  • Ability to understand and be responsive to business needs and to advocate for success defining and leading teams to deliver solutions on the Salesforce platform
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team and a willingness to take ownership of problems
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills - must be able to deliver workshops and strategize at a C level
  • 7+ years of experience, to include: 3+ years project experience in a hands-on technical leadership position and 4+ years or more experience with Salesforce in a development or configuration capacity
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Best Practices using Apex and Visualforce
  • Experience building integrations with Salesforce and 3rd-party APIs with the Salesforce platform. In-depth knowledge of Salesforce SOAP API, REST API, and BULK API
  • Extensive development experience using VisualForce, Apex controllers, Triggers, Batch Apex, and other programmatic solutions on the Salesforce platform
  • Proficient in Salesforce Data Loader, Workbench and Excel for data analysis and quality initiatives.
