About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Accounting Manager who excels at both strategic management and hands-on execution. This role will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Accounting and Tax and GA on strategic initiatives and will shape and lead Accounting and Tax functions in India. You will be responsible for building the India processes and local compliance team for statutory accounting and tax compliance, ensuring the integrity of accounting and tax records for the Indian legal entity and compliance with India tax regulations, and accounting standards. In addition, you will be responsible for contributing to the global strategy to centralize statutory compliance support and filings for Highspots international entities, as well as leading and supporting the accounting and financial operations functions based in India. You will have the opportunity to establish best practices and ascertain compliance of accounting and tax policies. Responsibilities
- Execute the strategy to build and maintain scalable and enhanced controllership processes for accurate accounting and tax records with focus on long term scalability
- Maintain accounting and tax records for Highspot India and other global Subsidiaries and comply with the local GAAP requirements as per Netsuite ERP
- Perform and review monthly/ quarterly flux variance analysis for reporting
- Work cross-functionally with the International accounting teams to ensure alignment and to drive process improvements
- Innovate Through optimization: Lead process improvement initiatives and champion optimization to accelerate and future proof accounting and tax processes
- Collaborate with 3rd party services providers to gain a deep understanding of India & Global tax regulations and compliance requirements and inform leadership of risk mitigation assessments.
- Ensure adherence to Global tax regulations, and reporting requirements for accounting and tax matters including audit inquiries and support
- Support statutory compliance preparation and filings including financial statement preparation, statutory audits, corporate income tax compliance, indirect tax compliances and exchange control filings
- Management and monitoring of indirect tax and other tax filings globally
- Standardizing Global reporting and deliverables for compliance related deliverables
- Executing optimization and enhancement programs to create efficiencies in the day-to-day operations
- Ability to work independently with the process owners to ensure that all tasks are completed
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally and be the go-to accounting expert for internal partners, offering clear, proactive insights that drive success across the business
- Execute ad-hoc deliverables related to new system implementations and process improvements
Required Qualfications
- Chartered Accountant qualification is a requirement. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- 6+ years of post-qualification experience in accounting, tax or related roles
- 3+ years of experience in a management role, overseeing teams statutory compliance at a multinational company (Big4 experience/ IT Company experience (‘Saas’) is preferred)
- Experience in Netsuite and Floqast is a plus
- Experience in international statutory financial statement preparation and audits, including tax filings and compliances
- Managed a team of 3+ members across accounting and (or) finance functions
- Project management experience, including proven record of executing on multi-month projects
- Knowledge of tax regulations such as Income-tax laws, Indirect tax such as GST and VAT
