About the Role
As the Sr. Automations Engineer, you will lead the evolution of Highspot's internal ecosystem. You will architect and build the next generation of automation, deploying both traditional orchestration integrations and emerging AI agent frameworks. Your work will bridge the gap between established iPaaS patterns and innovative Generative AI capabilities, directly impacting how our global teams operate. This role will require collaboration with US-based resources and flexibility to meet during PST business hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy integrations, AI agents, MCP modules, and internal tools that automate complex workflows and reduce manual work.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, Sales, Engineering, and IT to deliver high-impact opportunities for AI-powered automation.
  • Integrate and optimize enterprise systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, Jira, etc.) using APIs and MCP servers on platforms like Workato.
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance through rigorous testing and debugging; champion data privacy standards, especially for sensitive HR and Finance data within AI workflows.
  • Continuously enhance and maintain integrations, agents, and MCPs while staying ahead of advancements in LLMs and orchestration frameworks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and document architectures, workflows, and communication models for transparency and reusability.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Automation/iPaaS (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Logic Apps) with deep expertise in Workato.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Ruby, Python, or JavaScript) to extend automation capabilities, perform complex data transformations, and build custom connectors.
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and APIs (such as Workato One, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, MS Copilot) and a strong desire to design AI for internal enterprise tools.
  • Strong understanding of API design, RESTful services, and SaaS integrations, with proven experience owning integration design through deployment life cycles.
  • Experience working with APIs from major enterprise systems such as Jira, NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, Slack, Airtable, and Coupa.
  • Understanding of data privacy principles (PII, GDPR, SOC2) when handling sensitive business data in automation flows.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills combined with strong communication for effective cross-functional collaboration. Self-motivated and able to drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
