About the role:
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Taking full ownership of your business, strategy, opportunities, pipeline, and revenue primarily for net new Enterprise accounts in the West
- Understanding customer’s business requirements and aligning Kong solutions that will add value and help them achieve their business objectives
- Providing account leadership and direction in the pre- and post-sales process and contributing to analysis on wins/losses
- Effectively managing and leveraging Cross-functional relationships with SE, SDR, Operations, Marketing, Product, Legal, etc.
- Fostering and Encouraging partnership with the Channel, Cloud Providers, Systems Integrators, ISVs, etc.
- Building large ecosystem-based sales campaigns
- Embracing the sales process, with meticulous attention to detail
- Operating with a high standard of excellence
- Meeting Customers and Partners on-site and remotely, as well as attending events, trade shows, etc.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 5+ years of experience in selling software to Net New Enterprise accounts, and Fortune/Global Logos in PNW
- Track record of over-achievement in hunter roles
- Experience with infrastructure software, open source, APIM, and the cloud native landscape
- Strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and closing skills
- Motivated, optimistic, driven, competitive mindset

Kong has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to specific candidate location, role, skill set and level of experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards including sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role. Benefits may vary depending on location. US based employees are typically offered access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short and long term disability benefits, basic life and AD&D insurance, among others. The typical base pay range for this role in the US is $140k-160k
