About the role:
Under the supervision of Kong’s Commissions Manager, collaborate closely with RevOps team to obtain timely and accurate sales achievement data for the various geographies every month. Review and analyze data for consistency and accuracy, both from the Customer account perspective, as well as from an internal commissionable employee(s) perspective. Use the validated monthly sales data to compute commissions payout for all employees who are tagged to earn commissions on each deal. Prepare monthly commissions earnings reports and associated analytics to assist management in quota attainment reviews. Also prepare quarterly attainment reports for distribution to management.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Address questions from the field regarding commissions calculations and their accuracy or completeness.
  • Over time, become very comfortable and conversant with the different incentive plan designs for various field teams.
  • Work with the finance and accounting team(s) to develop new or modified commission plans, including annual and/or half yearly plan designs or re-designs.
  • Track historical achievements at payee level and assist with analytics required during the sales incentive planning processes.
  • Assist with the calculation of month-end commission accruals (in lieu of actual payout calculations).
  • Fulfil ad hoc financial or sales related analyses as needed.
  • Leverage systems such as Excel, Salesforce, and CaptivateIQ, to accomplish day-to-day work objectives.
  • And any additional tasks required by manager.

Skills Necessary:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with, and manipulate, large data sets.
  • High level of proficiency in using Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, if/then statements, and other logic formulations within Excel.
  • Beginner level understanding of basic accounting principles such as debits, credits, accruals, payables, expenses etc. would be an added plus.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, CaptivateIQ and NetSuite would be good to have, but are not a must have (company can train strong candidates that have other required skills but lack exposure to these specialized software tools).

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or accounting.
  • 2 to 3 years of prior work experience desired, but strong candidates that are recent graduates from a 4 years undergraduate program can also be considered.
Kong has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to specific candidate location, role, skill set and level of experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards including sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role. Benefits may vary depending on location. US based employees are typically offered access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short and long term disability benefits, basic life and AD&D insurance, among others. The typical base pay range for this role in the US is $95,000 - 125,000/year.
