As Legal Counsel, you will report directly to the Director, Associate General Counsel. In this dynamic role, you will provide legal advice on a diverse array of topics, manage day-to-day legal matters, and spearhead essential business initiatives, including:
What You Will Do
- Commercial Contracts - Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a variety of commercial contracts. Coordinate deal negotiation with internal stakeholders and provide counsel regarding contract terms.
- Procurement: Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a variety of procurement contracts.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with internal stakeholders, including sales, procurement, finance, and operations teams, to facilitate the smooth and efficient execution of contracts and initiatives.
- Risk Mitigation - Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with commercial transactions and provide strategic advice to minimize potential liabilities.
- Policy and Procedure Development - Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement - Proactively identify opportunities to improve contract processes and operational efficiencies.
- Research: Stay up to date on legal and regulatory requirements relating to AI and data privacy.
- Process Improvement: Leverage technology wherever possible to automate, streamline and otherwise drive process improvements. Contribute to legal operations, maintaining systems and processes that enhance departmental efficiency.
What You Bring To The Table
- J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state bar
- 3-5 years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on commercial transactions, technology, privacy and SaaS
- Are a creative problem solver who understands that their role is not only to identify legal issues, but to resolve them and achieve business objectives
- Possess a strong attention to detail across many workstreams and responsibilities
- Are comfortable making sense of high-volume and sometimes contradictory information in order to solve problems
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strives for high-quality work product provided efficiently with a growth mind set.
- Willingness to be mentored and to continuously improve skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.

Nice To Have
- Deep understanding of subject matter areas that are foundational to development of AI/ML technologies and software, such as intellectual property, contracts, software licensing, open source, and privacy.
- Data privacy experience and/or IAPP CIPP/US Certification
- Experience in managing legal risk across multiple jurisdictions, including global privacy laws, content regulations, litigation, and compliance matters
- Experience in advancing complex initiatives in a multi-stakeholder environment
- Deep understanding of subject matter areas that are foundational to development of AI/ML technologies and software, such as intellectual property, contracts, software licensing, open source, and privacy.
Compensation Range: $200,000 - $235,000
*Our compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions or bonus plans.
Ultimately, in determining pay, final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, the role’s scope and complexity, the candidate’s experience and expertise, and other factors.
