OpenX is seeking a Vice President of Strategic Relationships with significant experience in the programmatic ecosystem. This executive will represent OpenX to leading DSPs and other demand partners. The focus of this role will be on finding strategic, long-term partnership opportunities that leverage the OpenX exchange platform, identity/data assets, and CTV publisher product suite to drive increased value for demand partners and OpenX.
The Vice President of Strategic Relationships is an important member of the team and is expected to leverage deep knowledge of DSPs and the programmatic ecosystem in order to enhance and improve our product suite, refine our value proposition and broaden our understanding of the markets in which we compete. This person will own OpenX’s strategic relationship with their assigned DSPs, work on prospecting new DSP partners and serve as a partner to the other DSP-facing teams, such as Account Management, Sales Engineering and Product.
This is a remote role with a location preference of NY, CHI, or LA.

Areas of Responsibilities

  • Establish and foster executive relationships at the DSPs to gain direct insight into their business and technical planning
  • Forge relationships with the DSP Agency and Client teams to ensure that OpenX is at the top of the consideration set for exchange and deal growth
  • Identify new upsell opportunities for revenue growth around PMP/PG deals, OpenX 1st party data, audience extension, and identity solutions
  • Prospect and close new DSPs relationships Partner with Account Management to own a book of strategic top DSPs and manage all aspects of the business - revenue, exec touchpoints, contracts, and account plans
  • Work to align DSP and other demand platform roadmaps with the OpenX product roadmap to ensure development paths are in synch with partners
  • Evangelize OpenX in the industry as a transparent, sustainable, and efficient path to demand and represent OpenX as a brand ambassador at various industry events
  • Be a thought leader in the organization to push forward key business initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of programmatic sales experience in ad tech or at a programmatic publisher
  • Ability to engage in strategic conversations with senior-level executives
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota targets and leading successful partnerships with top tier clients
  • Deep programmatic industry knowledge and strong understanding of publishers, ad tech platforms, and retail media networks
  • Exceptional verbal, written, communication and presentation skills
  • High energy, self-motivated and passionate about working in a fast-paced startup environment

Desired Requirements

  • Programmatic experience with DSPs and other demand platforms, data platforms, and/or suppliers
  • CTV programmatic experience preferred
  • Highly organized, with experience successfully managing multiple projects to tight deadlines
  • A clear understanding of SSPs/exchanges and programmatic buying fundamentals
  • Ability to travelAbility to thrive in a dynamic, team-focused environment delivering against tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills and strong business judgment
