At OpenX, we know that the key to growth is a high-performing sales and service team. That’s why we’re seeking a qualified Intern to support our Growth Sales Team. In this role, the Buyer Development Intern will work alongside a pair of dedicated mentors within our sales and service team to learn the ad tech business and the value drivers that OpenX can provide advertisers. The role will include responsibilities that incorporate both our Sales Development Rep and Account Coordinator roles to foster an environment of learning while delivering impactful business results. The person in this role should be a quick learner with attention to detail who has strong communication skills and an ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Every potential customer is an opportunity for boosting top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels, and profitability; the intern in this role will play a key role in helping us achieve those goals.
Responsibilities
- Learn the programmatic ecosystem and the company’s products/services completing comprehensive internal and external training programs to learn how our solutions meet customer needs.
- Partner with the Sales Development Rep (SDR) and Marketing to generate leads by nurturing warm prospects and finding potential new prospects through account research and client outreach.
- Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects and engage sales executives in next steps.
- Utilize Salesforce, proactive email outreach to prospect new sales opportunities.
- Identify the needs of prospects, and suggest appropriate products or services
- Partner with Account Manager and Sales teams to create unique and differentiated packages of Inventory for new and existing deal opportunities
- Work with Account Managers to support the creation of deal IDs, enabling buyers to target curated inventory within their Demand Side Platforms (DSPs).
- Assist Account Managers with Salesforce workflows to ensure deals progress smoothly and accurately through the activation lifecycle.
- Collaborate with internal teams to build and refine a transparent, data-driven Account Management process for inventory curation and deal setup.
- Build long-term, trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities.
- Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market.
- Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) customers and sales executives.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a major or emphasis in Business, Marketing, Communications and/or Finance
- Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Slides
- Strong ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with management and cross-functional teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and exceptional organizational skills
- Proven, creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software would be a plus but not required
