As a Senior Technical Program Manager in our Engineering Department, you will play a critical role in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of various engineering projects. You function as an expert in one or more areas of product capability. You deeply understand how users typically engage with features, how the front-end user experience is organized, and how the software is designed to support those functions. This role is responsible for delivering quality experiences to Outreach customers through development of new feature capabilities, optimization of performance and user experience, and relentless focus on quality, security and scale.
You will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, aligning technical strategies with business goals, and ensuring the timely and efficient completion of projects. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with the highest quality standards. You will also work with stakeholders in other geos to ensure there is consistency across squads and other orgs.
Your Daily Adventures Will Include
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation
- Collect and define requirements, work ownership, and both inbound and outbound dependencies for each initiative, facilitating design reviews. Understand and be able to communicate the key facets and tradeoffs of the proposed design for each initiative
- Drive end-to-end cross-team delivery of each initiative, communicating work and deadlines to each squad, collecting status, and reporting to leadership and stakeholders
- Institute practices and an established cadence for reviewing status, changes, adoption, operational health, and quality with tracking, and visibility around high priority action items
- Identify potential risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies
- Proactively address challenges to keep projects on track
- Understand the technical aspects of the projects, including engineering principles, methodologies, and technologies
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, reporting project status, milestones, and issues
- Lead regular project status meetings and ensure documentation is up to date
- Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs, ensuring that all changes are properly documented and approved
- Maintain project documentation, including requirements, technical specifications, and design documents
Our Vision of You
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven experience in technical program management, particularly in engineering
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand complex engineering concepts
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in project management tools and software
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
