Every hire must demonstrate at least Level 1. The expected level will vary depending on the seniority of the role.
What you’ll be doing
Lead technical sourcing initiatives for finished products, from supplier identification and technical evaluation through production ramp-up.
Leverage AI, ERP systems, and digital tools for automation, visibility, traceability, and data-driven decision-making across the supply chain.
Demonstrate proficiency in applying AI/ML techniques to enhance sourcing predictability, optimize inventory management, and predict supply chain disruptions.
Manage end-to-end RFx processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ), ensuring technical and supply chain alignment and leading commercial negotiations.
Support supplier selection decisions based on technical capability, systems maturity, scalability, operational robustness, and total cost of ownership.
Ensure seamless purchase order execution and on-time material availability in alignment with production schedules and demand plans.
Analyze market dynamics to identify cost optimization opportunities, alternative sourcing strategies, and supply risk mitigation initiatives.
Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, driving performance, accountability, and long-term partnership alignment with Sword's operational and technical objectives.
What you need to have
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of experience in technical sourcing, purchasing, supplier engineering, or supply chain project management.
Experience applying AI/ML concepts and implementation to optimize supply chain processes.
Experience working with contract manufacturers (CMs), EMS providers, or industrial suppliers.
Solid understanding of purchase order management, logistics operations, and supplier relationship management.
Proven experience leading cross-functional projects involving Engineering and Supply Chain.
Strong analytical skills to optimize purchasing and delivery processes in line with business objectives.
Experience with digital purchasing tools, logistics platforms, and inventory management systems.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers.
Based in or near the Porto Metropolitan Area.
Experience in consumer electronics, medical devices, or regulated hardware environments.
Knowledge of digital solutions for supply chain optimization, including ERP systems and PLM tools.
Experience in automating purchasing workflows to improve efficiency and streamline operations.
Exposure to supply chain risk mitigation, dual sourcing, and redesign-to-value initiatives.
