At Sword, we’re building AI to heal billions and unlock humanity’s full potential. In doing so, we’re pioneering AI Care, a fundamentally new approach to healthcare built for medical reasoning, safety, and real-time treatment, not generic technology applied after the fact. As both a clinical-centric frontier AI lab and an applied AI platform, Sword is reimagining how care is delivered at scale, removing traditional barriers like appointments, waiting rooms, and stigma so more people can access the care they need—and ultimately get back to lives lived in full.

Since 2020, Sword has expanded across physical therapy, women’s health, cardiometabolic, and mental health, and is now moving beyond the session to a fully AI-native, 24/7 care program that brings physical activity, therapeutic exercise, psychotherapy, nutrition, and behavior change into one connected experience. More than 700,000 members across three continents have completed over 10 million AI sessions, helping 1,000+ enterprise clients avoid more than $1 billion in unnecessary healthcare costs. Backed by 42 clinical studies, 44+ patents, and more than $500 million raised from leading investors including Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, and Founders Fund, Sword is defining a new standard for healthcare.

We are looking for an experienced Pediatrician to provide clinical validation, medical advisory, and expert oversight, and to actively build with us. You will serve as a key clinical voice and a hands-on contributor, creating the guidelines, protocols, and frameworks that ensure our AI models, content, and care pathways meet the highest standards of pediatric medicine. This is a part-time contractor role (~8-16 hours/week).

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing pediatric clinical guidelines, care protocols, and evidence-based frameworks that directly inform Sword's AI models and care programs.

  • Translating clinical knowledge into structured content that product, engineering, and data teams can build on.

  • Reviewing and validating AI-generated recommendations and interventions for clinical accuracy, safety, and developmental appropriateness.

  • Contributing to the design of pediatric care pathways, assessment criteria, and outcome metrics.

  • Bringing innovative thinking on how AI and digital tools can reshape pediatric care — challenging conventional approaches and proposing new ones.

  • Flagging clinical risks or gaps as the product evolves and working with the team to resolve them.

What you need to have

  • Active medical license and board certification in Pediatrics.

  • Proven clinical experience across broad pediatric health.

  • Comfortable creating clinical documents, frameworks, and structured deliverables.

  • Genuine curiosity about AI and digital health — excited to work at the intersection of clinical medicine and technology.

  • Strong written communication in English — able to translate complex clinical concepts for non-clinical audiences.

  • Comfortable working asynchronously in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
