About Verse Medical
We’re building the software infrastructure that enables hospital-quality care, at home. As healthcare costs have increased, the patient’s home has become incredibly important as a site of care.
Yet, patients recovering at home are highly underserved. Patients can only get better at home if they receive the high-quality care that they need reliably. The existing in-home care process involves a patchwork of different vendors, all connected through faxes and phone calls. We’re building modern, robust software that solves this challenge. We currently operate across 47 states with most of the largest health systems in the US.
We’re backed by some of the best investors in technology and healthcare and have ambitious expansion plans. It’s a particularly exciting time to join the company as we’re aggressively expanding the team.
Role Overview: We’re hiring a highly analytical and detail-oriented Chief of Staff to partner closely with our CEO in driving the company’s most critical initiatives and ensuring operational excellence.
This role is pivotal in ensuring our leadership team is laser-focused on high-impact priorities and that the organization runs smoothly and efficiently. The Chief of Staff will have a bird’s-eye view of the entire company, serving as a key advisor, operational executor, and problem-solver for the CEO.

Why This Role?

  • There are two "types" of folks for whom this role is a natural fit:
  • Future Founder. You're someone looking to see how a post-product market fit company scales and learn about innovating in highly regulated spaces.
  • Future Commercial Leader. You're looking to scale your career quickly within technology and grow into a senior commercial leadership role.
  • In both cases, the role provides deep visibility and access into the most critical decisions a high growth organization makes, which is often vital for either path.

Key Responsibility - Operational Support:

  • Summarize & prepare materials for various leadership meetings, reviewing closely with the founder.
  • Identify areas where the CEO should be spending time based on analytics & meeting summaries.
  • Track progress on major company projects and initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met and blockers are addressed.
  • Maintain a system for escalating brewing issues to leadership promptly.

Key Responsibility - Analytical and Reporting:

  • Conduct fact-finding investigations in specific areas and prepare comprehensive reports & recommendations.
  • Dive into analytics and reporting to uncover insights and make recommendations for improvement.

Key Responsibility - Strategic Focus:

  • Act as a gatekeeper for the CEO, ensuring time and energy are focused on the most critical priorities.
  • Eventually, represent the CEO in meetings as necessary and ensure their directives are executed effectively.

Key Responsibility - Process and Organization:

  • Drive operational improvements across the company, ensuring processes are effective and scalable.
  • Manage follow-up on deadlines and commitments with internal teams to ensure accountability.

Eventual Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the CEO's "audit" function, providing an objective view of organizational health and execution.
  • Run operational aspects of the CEO's role, taking on tasks and projects end-to-end as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong Work Ethic: To be effective in this role, it's critical to be immersed in all aspects of the business, working very closely with the CEO. As a result, this role will regularly require 55-60 hours a week, with weekend (primarily Sunday) work as necessary.
  • Analytical Excellence: Highly skilled in data analysis and able to synthesize complex information into actionable insights. Requires SQL knowledge or strong willingness to learn.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills with a process-driven mindset. Your work will be trusted without double-checking, so consistently defect-free work is critical.
  • Technical Background (Preferred): While this role isn't technical, we have a strong preference for folks that studied something technical (e.g. computer science, math, engineering, etc.).
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and propose solutions independently.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; you can represent the CEO effectively in various forums.
  • Able to work in-person 5 days a week in our NYC office.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, analytical, or business-related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in technology, consulting, operations, strategy, or similar roles.
