Description

Welcome to Zesty, a dynamic startup at the forefront of cloud optimization innovation!

Zesty’s Mission

Zesty is a startup company specializing in automated optimization solutions, aiming to help organizations reduce costs and enhance operational efficiency. The company offers a range of products designed for DevOps and FinOps teams responsible for managing cloud usage within organizations.

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who’s passionate about developer experience, platform reliability, and cutting-edge automation.

This role goes beyond traditional DevOps - you’ll dogfood Zesty’s own cloud and Kubernetes optimization products, providing hands-on feedback and product insights directly to our product and engineering teams.

You’ll design and own a scalable, resilient, developer-friendly infrastructure while shaping how Zesty itself builds, deploys, and optimizes in the cloud.

Your ownership will include:

  • Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes-based platforms across AWS/GCP for scalable microservices.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Terragrunt, and Helm, ensuring fully automated, versioned environments.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Argo CD, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI to streamline deployments.
  • Develop Python automation tools and internal platforms that enhance developer experience and reliability.
  • Continuously dogfood Zesty’s optimization products (e.g., for Kubernetes and cloud cost automation) - validating their performance, identifying improvements, and advising the product team on real-world impact and UX.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, scalability, and cost efficiency using observability and FinOps best practices.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to improve developer velocity, CI/CD workflows, and infrastructure resilience.
  • Champion platform-engineering principles - enabling teams to deploy confidently and operate efficiently.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles.
  • Proven expertise with Kubernetes (architecture, scaling, troubleshooting, multi-cluster management).
  • Strong experience with IaC tools and frameworks (Terraform, Helm, and Argo CD).
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD best practices and developer experience optimization. Strong experience writing CI/CD pipelines utilizing Gitlab CI, Github Actions, Jenkins or similar.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python for automation, integrations, and infrastructure tooling.
  • Deep Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud vendor (AWS/GCP/Azure), including operation of various managed services, cost management and performance tuning.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to bridge infrastructure, product, and engineering teams.
