Credit Risk Associate

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced Credit Risk Associate to join our rapidly growing credit risk team work within a highly quantitative framework. This person will play a critical role in developing data driven credit risk management frameworks for credit and lending products offered by Current.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write new and maintain existing credit policies and procedures.
  • Build credit risk models and rules across the credit lifecycle for lending / liquidity products that include secured credit card, liquidity products or future credit products.
  • Monitor and optimize performance of portfolio and credit risk rules for target risk adjusted returns.
  • Perform in-depth analysis using internal, 3rd party and credit bureau data to identify gaps, mitigate losses and support product growth.
  • Build and manage ongoing processes and reporting for existing lending/ liquidity products
  • Develop insights to solve complex problems and communicate ideas to internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product and Engineers to validate & deploy strategies in an efficient, sustainable & usable manner.

ABOUT YOU:

  • 3 to 6 years of progressive experience in credit risk management with consumer credit cards, BNPL, unsecured consumer loans or a combination of credit risk and payments risk.
  • At least 3 years of prior experience in building risk policies, models, rules and strategy for credit/ lending products.
  • Detailed knowledge of credit bureau data, bank statement transaction data, or alternative credit data from providers.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with SQL and MS Excel
  • Intermediate level of expertise and experience using Python
  • Experience within the start-up space is a plus.

This role has a base salary range of $125,000 - $155,000. Compensation is determined based on experience, skill level, and qualifications, which are assessed during the interview process.
